I have never been to the Grand Canyon or Colorado Plateau before! I am most excited for the opportunity to explore conservation issues in these regions with other passionate students and mentors during the course of the summer! I can’t wait to get started.
By participating in the DDCSP@NAU, I hope to gain a more holistic perspective on conservation issues as they pertain to us today. Understanding the ways in which we can most effectively play a role in conservation science, policy, and advocacy. I have been involved for numerous years in community organizing work and am now interested in trying my hand in the research world. I hope that I will be able to use the knowledge I gain through the program and internships, not only understand conservation issues more in depth and contribute to case studies, but to better educate and campaign around the importance of conservation once I have completed the program.
