Nizhooni Hurd
1) The elements of diversity and inclusion in the program are what stuck out to me the most. With already having interest in conservation work, it is exciting to know that I can be around a more diverse group of learners and that the program is devoted to providing opportunities to those not always represented in the conservation field.
2) At this moment, I see myself wanting to contribute to connecting and engaging with people and the conversations that are being held about conservation. I hope to would hope to be a liaison for communities historically silenced in conservation movements. I could also see myself contributing to research about the histories of marginalized peoples and their interactions with sustainability and conservation.
